# The catalog

> Products and services in Geenius MVP: variants, stock, VAT classes, collections, CSV import and export, and prices that come only from the catalog.

The catalog holds the products and services a shop sells.

- Amounts are in the currency's major unit, two decimals at most. Slugs and SKUs are unique.
- **Variants** are made from option combinations; stock is set per physical variant.
- **VAT classes**: NL 21, 9 and 0 percent, DE 19, 7 and 0 percent.
- **Collections** and categories, with counts.
- **CSV** import and export, one row per variant.
- Only a valid product can go active; archive is undoable.

A shop sells its own products once it has any, otherwise the workspace's shared ones. Prices come only from the catalog: never invent them.
